July Wrap up

July has been good to me! The Texas heat? Not so much.

The biggest, most exciting part of July was that I signed with my agent, Kim Lionetti for my new YA novel, SASHA CADE’S DEATHWISH. Seeing as howΒ I first started looking for an agent in 2009, this was a pretty epic part of my July/year/life.

I’ve also seen the cover for my next YA book, BREAKUP SUPPORT GROUP, coming out November 1st of this year. I can’t show you guys yet, but trust me, IT IS SO CUTE!! I can’t wait for the reveal and will let you all know when the signups are posted. You’re going to want to squee over this cover with me.

In reading news, I finished these books:

My current TBR shelf has at 15 books on it (eek!) and the new Kasie West book will be here in two days, so make that 16. I’m going to need to read a lot faster to catch up any time soon.

This month I also ate a chocolate dipped Moon Pie, which was probably the second best thing to happen to me besides getting an agent. I also saw Stonehenge! Well, the one in Texas. Pretty cool.

Stumbled upon a Stonehenge in Texas.

As for what’s next, the month of August will be fun and technical. I am finishing up edits for BREAKUP SUPPORT GROUP, and also making a few revisions to SASHA CADE’S DEATHWISH. At the same time (because I can never do one thing at a time) I’m working on a new book proposal and plan to have at least 15k words written within a week. I’m currently at 4300.Β Send coffee. I’ll need it!

Let me know about your July in the comments!

Big News: I got an agent!

I am so excited to announce that my writing career has taken a big step. I am now represented by Kim Lionetti of BookEnds Literary!

After signing 2 book deals on my own, I knew I needed an agent to take my writing to a higher level, so I recently queried my top agent choices with a manuscript I wrote this summer. After receiving three offers, (and nearly going crazy from the stress of having to choose) I signed with Kim. She is super enthusiastic about my book and I am so excited to be working with her and to be a part of the BookEnds team. (They have a really great blog if you haven’t read it yet.)

I may write more later, if you are all interested in the details, but for now I’m going to have a frozen sangria to celebrate!
